We heat with wood, live off-grid-mindset lives, and write production code. That combination is rarer than it should be.

We use what we build
Tempist started because we needed it. Every feature comes from real experience heating with outdoor wood boilers in harsh winters.
💻
Full-stack capability
Embedded C on microcontrollers to Python backends to modern frontends. We ship complete products, not just pieces.

Data-driven results
Our predictive models forecast equipment events with useful accuracy. We measure, iterate, and prove — we don't guess.
Why rural matters — and why northwest PA matters
We're based in northwest Pennsylvania, just outside Erie. Lake-effect country. We've watched 7 feet of snow pile up in a single season and felt the thermometer sit below zero for a week at a stretch. Our own wood boilers run hard through all of it, which is why the firmware and platform have to work when the weather doesn't cooperate.
Most developers have never split wood, maintained a boiler, or thawed a frozen line at 3 AM. We have. That hands-on experience shows up in software that actually works in the real world — not just in a demo. When you need IoT that survives −10°F nights, monitoring for equipment that doesn't have an API, or a platform that handles patchy rural internet and long driveways, we get it.
